Teachers will hatch chickens in their classroom, giving students a chance to interact with the chicks and observe the differences between chicks and eaglets first hand. This lesson can be put together in a number of ways, depending on how deeply the instructor wants to dive. If hatching chicks isn’t possible in your classroom, consider watching a live chicken cam (https://youtu.be/gNs1O9nHmpo) or ordering live chicks.

- A journal or whole class chart for collecting information.
- Fertile chicken eggs and an incubator in the classroom if you plan to hatch chicks.
